400 full-color photos and paintings are complemented by easy, step-by-step instructions showing how to tackle each project, while the plant descriptions found in the plant profiles section explain cultivation and care, taking the uncertainty out of gardening.

The updated fourth edition of this complete guide includes an emphasis on the importance of native plants, deer- and drought-resistant species, identifications of invasive and banned plants, new information on the impact of climate change on the northeast region, and more.

U.S. states covered include CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, RI, and VT. Southeast Canada provinces covered include New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec.
