An NC-17 rating means Adults Only – No One 17 and Under Admitted. It signifies that the film contains material, such as explicit sex, violence, or drug use, that the Motion Picture Association (MPA) considers "patently adult" and unsuitable for viewers under the age of 18. Unlike an R-rated film, an NC-17 film cannot be seen by anyone under 17, even with a parent or guardian, as it is a legally enforced restriction at theaters in the United States.
